Chicago apartment locator
Chicago’s Best Rentals is a licensed local apartment locator — local agents who do your apartment search for you and line up the tours. Here’s exactly how it works.
A locator does the legwork for you: we filter hundreds of buildings to real, current availability, know which ones are offering move-in deals, book the tours, and answer the questions a listing can't. You get a shortlist that fits instead of scrolling endless listings.
An apartment locator is a licensed real-estate agent who does your apartment search for you. They learn your budget and must-haves, pull matching availability across many buildings, book the tours, and flag current deals. The building pays the locator a referral commission when a renter they introduce signs a lease.
Three steps. First, tell us your budget, move-in date, and must-haves. Second, a licensed local locator sends you a hand-picked shortlist plus any current specials. Third, we line up your tours and help you apply. Most people hear back the same day.
Buildings pay us a referral commission from their leasing and marketing budget when a renter we introduce signs a lease. It doesn't raise your rent — that budget is already set aside whether you come through us, a listing site, or walk in off the street.
We work with 300+ rental buildings across Chicago's most in-demand neighborhoods — the West Loop, River North, Gold Coast, Lincoln Park, South Loop, Logan Square, and more. Browse our neighborhood guides to see current availability by area.
There's no obligation to work with us. We will ask you to sign a form stating that we showed you the building and that we will seek our commission from the building if you rent there.
Fast — usually the same day. Once you submit the form, a licensed local locator follows up to learn what you're looking for and start lining up options that fit.
Yes — that's a big part of what we do. We track current specials across our buildings (free rent, waived application and admin fees, and move-in credits) and surface the best ones for your budget and neighborhoods.
Any application or admin fee is the building's own — we'll tell you about those upfront, including whether a current special waives them. Our compensation comes from the building we place you with.
Zillow and Apartments.com are open listing sites — anyone can post, listings aren't verified, and availability is often out of date, so it's easy to chase a stale price or a fake or bait listing. We're licensed locals who do the search for you: we work from real, current availability, know which buildings are genuinely offering deals, book your tours, and answer the questions a listing page can't.
Yes. We use your details only to match you to apartments and have a locator reach out. We don't sell your information.
Absolutely — a lot of our clients are moving to Chicago or renting their first apartment. Tell us your situation and we'll point you to the right neighborhoods and buildings for your budget.
